There have been plenty of rumors in the past about RIM bringing BlackBerry Messenger to both the iOS and Android platforms.   Now RIM’s CEO Thorsten Heins has said in the past that RIM might look into licensing with other platforms.  A new report for the Wall Street Journel shows that RIM was actually testing bringing BlackBerry Messenger to other platforms under the code name “SMS 2.0″.  However it looks like RIM has put that idea on hold for now.   Thorsten Heins told the WSJ that the idea was no longer up for discussion.  BlackBerry Messenger will be staying only on BlackBerry!
