Facebook Enables 'Photo Sync' for All iOS Users [Mac Blog]: Facebook is rolling out its new Photo Sync feature to its iOS users that automatically uploads all photos taken on the iPhone to a private photo album on Facebook. The idea is to make it easier and faster for users to share photos with their friends.

When you turn on photo syncing, your mobile photos will be saved to a private section of your Facebook Photos. You can easily share your synced photos on your timeline from desktop, mobile, or another device.

Only you can see the photos you’ve synced from your phone. Your photos are saved privately in a section of your Facebook Photos that only you can see. When you view your synced photos, you can choose shots to share or send in a private message. Facebook's support site has much more about Photo Sync. Facebook is using background uploads within the Facebook iOS app to move the photos, not anything special with location APIs or Apple's iOS 6 Facebook integr…

CloudMagic offers super fast search for Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox, and more

CloudMagic is a fantastic little app for searching through all of your favorite online services including Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox, and more. It simply creates a stream that contains all the places you're logged into and a search field at the top. As you type what you're searching for, CloudMagic brings up items that match -- and it does it lightning fast.
CloudMagic supports multiple accounts, so if you have 3 different Gmail accounts and 2 Twitter accounts, CloudMagic has got you covered. You can scroll down your feed to the seem the most recent items from each account you're logged into, but in reality, you'll probably primarily use that awesome search bar.

If you want to search through all your data at once, simply use the toolbar at the top of the feed, but CloudMagic also lets you search individual categories like messages, people, files, posts, and events.

Facebook Rolling Out New iOS Photo Sync Feature

Image
Facebook Rolling Out New iOS Photo Sync Feature: Facebook is slowly rolling out a new Photo Sync feature to its iOS users that automatically uploads all photos taken on the iPhone to a private photo album on Facebook. The idea is to make it easier and faster for users to share photos with their friends.

TechCrunch has more on how it works:

Here’s how Facebook Photo Sync works, at least for those lucky enough to be in the test. You go to the Photos app in the Facebook For iOS app’s sidebar navigation or the photos section of your Timeline and scroll to the bottom. There you may find an option to check out Photo Sync and then enable it, as seen in this photo sent in by tipster YoloFahad (an Instagrammer-extraordinaire).

Facebook will then automatically upload photos you shoot to an unpublished album only you can see. From there you can authorize which photos you want posted. Facebook's support site has much more about Photo Sync, as well. Facebook is using background uploads within t…

OS X 10.9 rumored to include Siri and Apple Maps

Image
Whether Siri is ready or not, Apple’s (AAPL) virtual assistant is the future. Although OS X 10.9 is still largely a mystery outside of a few Web sightings, 9to5Mac reports early builds of the next Mac operating system could see Siri and the widely criticized Maps app baked in. The Apple blog says it’s unsure if the two features will make it past the early testing stages and says if they do, they could be features Apple only supports on brand-new Macs. OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion’s Dictation is believed to be a hint that Siri is on its way, much like how the third-generation iPad only had dictation at launch but was later gifted with Siri in iOS 6. If the rumors of Apple moving OS X towards an annual release schedule are true, 10.9 could be pushed out by the end of summer next year. OS X 10.9 rumored to include Siri and Apple Maps

Microsoft Skydrive: now with selective synchronization

Image
Microsoft Skydrive: now with selective synchronization:
Microsoft has improved its file hosting and synchronization service Skydrive in wake of the deeper integration into the Windows 8 operating system. Some features are only available to users of the operating system, like the synchronization of account related preferences and customizations,  while the bulk of improvements are available for all systems. Microsoft Group Program Manager for SkyDrive apps Mike Torres revealed today that SkyDrive usage has doubled in the past six month period, which does not come as a surprise.
The company has released an update for SkyDrive today that brings selective synchronization to the service. Selective file synchronization gives you the option to sync only select folders with a system. Sometimes you may not need certain files on a system, and selective sync makes sure that those files are not synchronized with it. This can also be helpful if you run SkyDrive on systems with limited space.

RIM introduces BBM Voice - Make calls to BBM friends free over Wi-Fi

RIM introduces BBM Voice - Make calls to BBM friends free over Wi-Fi:
Hot off the announcement of worldwide BlackBerry 10 events in January, RIM has introduced an awesome new version of BBM today. BBM version 7 includes some great updated features including the new BBM Voice. BBM Voice lets you instantly initiate a voice call with BBM friends for free over a Wi-Fii connection.
In any BBM conversation, simply tap the call button and you'll start a voice call - it's that simple. BBM Voice will add some great depth to BBM, providing you the ability to escalate a chat to a voice call when the situation calls for it. This feature should be huge in emerging markets or for anyone calling long distance as there will be no long-distance charges.
Additionally, in BBM you'll be able to see each users status as well so you'll know who is available for a call and who isn't. When on a call you'll see a split-screen view and can still use any other apps on your device. So …
