iOS 7.0.2 now available, fixes Lock screen passcode bypass

Apple has just released iOS 7.0.2 as an over-the-air software update. This should fix any Lock screen bypasses in which users can bypass your passcode and gain access to your device. The update is available for all iOS 7 enabled devices. The exact wording on the update in reference to passcode bypasses is as follows: Fixes bugs that could allow someone to bypass the Lock screen passcodeOther than that, the only other release notes deal with adding a Greek keyboard option for passcode input. If you see anything else, let us know in the comments. We'll update if we find anything else out! In the mean time, you can grab the update by tapping into Settings > General > and Software Update.

Netflix rolls out Super HD to all customers and capable devices, including Apple TV

Netflix has announced that Super HD content is now being rolled out to all customers and all capable devices, which includes the current generation Apple TV. Previously the content was only available to a limited number of folks using specific Internet service providers whom had a direct connection to Netflix. All Netflix members, regardless of their Internet service provider (ISP), now have access to the highest quality HD streams available on Netflix. This means that the great TV shows and movies on Netflix will look even better on HD screens with a higher bit rate stream, Super HD, that applies less compression to the 1080p image. We initially rolled out Super HD in January only through ISPs with a direct connection to Netflix. Based on the performance data we’ve seen, and in response to member requests, we are now expanding availability to give all our members the ability to enjoy Netflix in the best possible quality.Super HD is better-than-HD quality content, in that some of the …

Apple TV Software 6.0 update now available - again!

The Apple TV Software 6.0 update has once again been made available by Apple. To get it, go to Settings > General > Software update on your Apple TV. For those keeping track at home, Apple apparently pulled the original update after it caused installation issues for what seemed like a significant number of people. Sounds like they've been working hard to fix it since then, and this then is the fix. New features remain the same - iTunes Radio (U.S. online), AirPlay your iTunes purchases to other people's Apple TVs, and some other stuff: iTunes Radio: Create your own radio stations and listen to them ad-free with iTunes Match. (Available only in the United States.) iTunes Music Store: Browse, purchase, and play music directly from the iTunes Music Store. iCloud Photos: Adds support for playing video from a shared photo stream and viewing photo streams from multiple contributors. AirPlay from iCloud: Apple TV will play content from iTunes in the Cloud instead of your AirPla…

Now, Google has made its Quickoffice document editing app available for free as well. In a blog post titled “Freeing Quickoffice for everyone,” Google notes: Everyone likes free stuff, which is why starting today we’re making Quickoffice available for free, for everyone. With Quickoffice, you can edit Microsoft® Office documents across your devices, giving you the freedom to work with anyone no matter what hardware or software they’re using. Quickoffice also integrates seamlessly with Google Drive storage so you can safely access your files from anywhere. Following the release of iOS 7 and the debut of its new iPhones, Apple has today pushed a new software update to its Apple TV set-top box following months of testing.
As expected, the update offers a number of new features for Apple TV users, including functionality for Apple’s newly released iTunes Radio music service, iCloud Photos and Videos, iTunes Music Store purchases on the device, Podcasts, and AirPlay from iCloud.
Apple has been working hard to bolster its Apple TV content offerings in recent months and has added additional apps for Vevo, The Weather Channel, the Disney Channel, the Smithsonian Channel, and more. The company is also rumored to be working on an updated version of its Apple TV hardware, which could debut later this year.
