Facebook Officially Announces Their Version Of Steam: Gameroom Ubergizmo  /  Tyler Lee We recently reported that Facebook is apparently interested in getting into eSports , and it looks like part of their plan has already materialized. The social networking giant has recently announced the launch of Gameroom , a Windows desktop gaming platform that's basically Facebook's take on Steam. Gameroom had existed for quite a while now, but it used to go by different names and existed in a beta. However it looks like it has finally exited beta and is officially known as Gameroom and is available for all users to download, as long as they are running Windows 7 or better. The app will allow gamers to play web, ported mobile, and native Gameroom games.   The online streaming giant Netflix already allows users to pair their Facebook accounts and suggest content to their friends. Any content recommended on the world’s largest social network previously used to be posted to the user’s timeline. Now though the Facebook integration has been tweaked a bit. Netflix will now allow its subscribers to send private recommendations to their friends on Facebook, if they ever come across something that’s meant for a particular pair of eyes only. The new social recommendation feature launched by Netflix today lets subscribers easily and privately recommend shows or movies that they have found with only those they really want to share them with. According to documents filed with SEC , the financial details will break down like this, $4 billion in cash and approximately $12 billion worth of Facebook shares. The agreement also provides for an additional $3 billion in restricted stock units to be granted to WhatsApp's founders and employees that will vest over four years subsequent to closing. Facebook Shared Photo Albums Unveiled Ubergizmo Facebook has unveiled shared photo albums. The feature allows multiple users to upload images to one photo album on the social network. The way these albums work is that one user would create an album and will then give access to as many as 50 contributors who can share 200 photos each. Shared photo albums will make it much easier for friends or groups to share pictures from an event or an activity, up till now users could only upload photos to albums that they themselves had created. The album's creator will have total access over the privacy of all photos. Three privacy settings can be configured for shared photo albums, public, contributors only and friends of contributors. The album creator will have the power to delete or modify all photos in a particular album, contributors will only be able to edit photos that they themselves have uploaded.
