It was discovered recently that the Netflix app was being listed as "incompatible" on the Google Play Store for those trying to access it through a rooted or unlocked Android smartphone. Netflix has offered users the option to download videos to watch later in its Android and iOS apps since late last year. And today that feature is finally making the jump to desktop with the addition of offline videos to the Windows 10 PC app, as reported by Windows Central . Like the mobile apps, the Windows 10 PC app does have a few limitations when it comes to downloading content. Offline downloads are only available for a seemingly random swath of Netflix's catalog (unsurprisingly, most of Netflix's own original series and films are eligible), but there's some pretty good stuff available, including Stranger Things , all the Star Trek shows, and the whole run of Breaking Bad . The Phlico Predicta was a TV that, in design terms at least, was way ahead of its time. But what if it had come loaded with Netflix? Well, that’s what a bunch of Netflix engineers wondered, too—so they decided to adapt one of the 1950s TV sets so that they could watch the streaming service on its ageing screen. Previously the content was only available to a limited number of folks using specific Internet service providers whom had a direct connection to Netflix. All Netflix members, regardless of their Internet service provider (ISP), now have access to the highest quality HD streams available on Netflix.   Netflix has tweaked its Instant Queue feature with My List, a new addition that automatically prioritizes movies and TV shows you might want to stream. The primary difference between Instant Queue and My List is the latter arranges the list so that the movies and TV shows you're most likely to watch rise to the top. The default sorting mode is automation. "After you’ve added several titles to your list, our technology will go to work and sort your List, presenting you with the titles you’re most likely to want to watch right up front," the company wrote on its blog . According to multiple Twitter reports and a tipster who contacted MacRumors , individual Netflix profiles are now showing up on the Apple TV. The personalized profile feature, which is expected to be launched in August, will allow users of shared Netflix accounts to select a unique profile when accessing the service. Netflix first debuted its personalized user profiles earlier this year at E3, giving select users beta access to the feature. With personalized profiles, each family member or Netflix user can have a separate profile with customizable avatars, individualized viewing histories, unique content recommendations, and parental control options.
