BBM Channels Finally Rolls Out Today To The Public

However, the company’s once iconic messaging service, BlackBerry Messenger, continues to bring some good news. It was recently announced after the roll out of BBM on iOS and Android that the service brought in over 20 million new users from the rival platforms in its first week alone. BBM Channels, a social network of sorts, rolls out today to the public after initially being announced back in May. BBM Channels is geared towards companies, brands and high-profile users. For example, a company can create its own BBM Channel interact with people through it. BBM users will be able to post questions and communicate with the company, which will have the option to share pictures, messages and even GIFs. It stores the predictions that Google Chrome has made for you and the some insights in to the accuracy of such predictions. There are also 3 values: hit count (how often you type those characters), miss count (how often you pick a different suggestion) and confidence score = hit_count/(hit_count+miss_count). Apple releases iOS 6.1.5 for iPod touch 4, also fixes FaceTime call bug

While pretty much every other iOS device released since 2010 is getting iOS 7.0.4, the not-qualified iPod touch 4 is getting the same FaceTime call bug fix but in retro iOS 6.1.5 form (2010 original iPad had not camera, so no FaceTime). And no, even if iOS 7 still hasn't won you over, you can't jam this update onto your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch 5. Sorry. You can grab it by going to General > Settings > Software Update on your 4th generation iPod touch, or by hooking up to iTunes over USB and hitting check for updates in iTunes. BREAKING -- Apple releases iOS 7.0.4

Apple has just released its iOS 7.0.4 update for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch lineups. The new software version is now available to all users with an iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPad Air, iPad (third and fourth generations), iPad 2, iPad mini or fifth-generation iPod touch. The release is a minor update with bug fixes including a fix for a FaceTime issue that impacted all devices. It follows iOS 7.0.3, which was pushed out in late October with a number of updates, not the least of which was the ability to disable the zooming transition animations that were making some users sick.

BlackBerry makes BBM available for iPad and iPod Touch devices

Initially having only arrived for iPhone, BlackBerry has now gone ahead and updated their BBM chat app to include support for the iPad and iPod Touch. The late arrival of the app on iOS doesn't seem to of have hampered its efforts though as BlackBerry has stated the app was downloaded over 10 million times in 24 hours between iOS and Android.

In an interesting move that stems from some issues users on OS 10.2 are having, BlackBerry has made the BlackBerry Android Runtime available for download.
